This is, by far, the best material I've found on the subject.
There's about two hours of video here.
This is good though provoking introduction from Daniel Amerman:
www.youtube.com/watch
But if you're really serious about understanding what's going on,
you'll want to take the full course over at Chris Materson's web site:

Re: Crash Course in Economics
Tue, September 22, 2009 - 6:59 AMThis is still a one sided course in economics. It is very much written for US style capitalism as being th eonly economic system that is viable. It is written for *investors* and people looking to put money somewhere.
A *real* crash course on economics will also contain the history of money, the history of banking, a discussion of Social Credit, a proper analysis of 'The Wealth of Nations', as well as a discussion of the concept of the Tera (Bernard Lietaer) and Silvio Gesell's natural order.
A US hedge fund approach to economics is not fair and balanced.
Unless you like repeating boom and bust cycles moving money from the many to the few. -

Wed, September 23, 2009 - 7:13 AMGood point there!
If you like history, this video, Money Masters will be an eye opening experience.
I was shocked to find out the history I was taught in school-- was just a subterfuge for profits.
It's over 3 hours long-- at Google Video. It's one of my favorites.
