We need a total land reform. When things go real bad (and I so hope to not be right ever with these bleak scenarios) , people can't even get to bit of land to help to get dietary needs met via gardening - because the globe is owned by corporations of banks for the most part. We have to live and deal with what we have.

I see a lot of social upheaval coming...
What bothers me is really that "peak oil" is brushed under the rug and even intellectuals think that we simply switch to solar cars and all will like before. I know there are enough recourses for all to live on this planet - but keeping interstate highway, Walmart and /Disney running - by just switching to wind/solar/thermal energies (which too need oil to be constructed) is illusory at this point. People think we always find the right solutions in a timely fashion. I can't see that happen, and as we are sleepwalk into a future totally unprepared for what is to come (and I include myself here too... ) - I don't often know how to approach the immensity of the storm I see at the horizon.

It is easy to see the death of the American dream by now which was anyway just A GREEDY "MY AMERICAN DREAM - "F" YOURS."

I often wonder, what next?

One of the reasons that it is getting harder to build abundance from actual substance is that the corporations are buying up and locking up all resources. Not only natural resources but intellectual property as well. First we have to break up the corporation and return it to the legal status that it had in the 1800's.

He applied Friedman's sick privatization policies with "wanting something for nothing"
Vegas style stock market gambling psychology...

It can't get any weirder... though this type of abundance creation "based on "greed" we create at the end nothing but "lack" and inner/outer poverty?

We need to create the kind of abundance based on actual "substance" and good ethics/good heart.

Well here's a big part of the problem.

"...Oddsson, 60, was elected mayor of Reykjavík while in his early 30s and went on to become Iceland's longest-serving Prime Minister, in office from 1991 to 2004. With thick, wavy hair, he's moody, witty, and an outspoken free-marketer who likes to quote Milton Friedman and has modeled himself on Britain's Margaret Thatcher."

It's hardly discussed in the US - but I am sure they would benefit greatly to
introduce Gesell's ideas.
